| High Service Pumps Vertical turbine pumps similar to the Raw Water Pumps are utilized to pump the finished water from the Clearwell into the water system. These pumps are mounted atop the Clearwell and operate one at a time on an alternating basis. They are rated at 150 horsepower with a capacity of 1050 GPM. The High Service Pumps are controled by the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system based upon system reservoir levels and the level of water in the Clearwell. The SCADA system is located at the Public Works Facility in Weaverville. It communicates with the water plant and reservoir sites by radio. |
